Dynamic Race Events - Angie & Joe Keep It Rollin'

On Sunday I did my 4th Dynamic Race Event of the year - the Olympic Distance at Cultus Lake, near Chilliwack, BC. Wow - great race day execution by the Dynamic crew. I was at the race site from about 5:30 AM until 4 PM and from an outsider's perspective things ran really smoothly.

The course was well marked with folks directing traffic at all critical sections. Although there were no aid station on the bike for the Olympic Distance racers, the run aid stations were well-stocked with the "good stuff" (F2C - you Yankees ought to try it). Post race was the usual hoopla featuring a briskly ran awards program followed by the Uber Competitive "heads or tails" for door prizes.

And then there was the pizza - PLENTY of variety and enough for everybody - including those 7 hour folks who competed in the Half - Ironman Distance Event.

In a day and age when multisport events are becoming ever- more "corporatized," Dynamic Race Events truly delivered a first class grass roots race series. The somewhat tarnished Outback brand is becoming more and more of a distant memory. Great job Angie and Joe.

A big plus 1 on this!

I decided after what happened to me last year that I only wanted to race 'local' events this summer and wanted to give back to the organizations that are themselves giving back and trying to grow our great sport.

4 of the 7 events I did this year were Dynamics events (Cultus lake x 2, Westwood and Elk lake) and I have had a tonne of fun racing with Joe and Angie and crew. From the silicon caps, race tattoos, prize money at the Elk Lake race, pizza/pancakes post race, wetsuit strippers, sportstats doing the timing, Dynamics branded beer for age group winners (I don't drink, but my Father in law says it's really good) - the organization has been top notch and I'm happy to have been able to take part.
It's been fun being able to race athletes of the caliber of Jeff Symonds in Cultus, Adam O'meara and Anthony Toth at a couple of races, Dylan Gleeson and on the women's side, Karen Thibodeau. Hopefully the series can continue to grow next year but keep the same local vibe.

Thanks Joe and Angie

I'm so happy to hear. I raced many Oliver races over the years, and was always happy, but became nervous when I heard about the problems with Outback events.
I will be returning to Oliver next year.

Would love to see DRE move in to Penticton.

"Dylan Gleeson and Karen Thibodeau on the women's side"

HAHA, priceless!

Technique will always last longer then energy production. Improve biomechanics, improve performance.

Any concerns with your time? I don't race with a computer or watch, but I "felt" faster than my time. It's very possible I'm not as fast as I think (or feel).

Close, but no cigar A.T.

The original quote was, "Dylan Gleeson and on the women's side, Karen Thibodeau"

Not, Dylan Gleeson and Karen Thibodeau on the women's side.

The word order makes all the difference.

Now if you did want something to laugh about, you could critique my running stride...

Pretty sure RJ mistyped the sentence that I copy and pasted and he later edited. But.... that's why it was funny.
