Dura Ace Shimano Cog Cassette Code Marking Stamps - What do they mean?
I have a lot of new or pull off cogs from Shimano Dura Ace and/or Ultegra from cassettes.

Thing is that I cannot tell what type of cassette they belong to.
Does anyone know of a resource online that has a list of what the codes or stampings or markings mean?

Markings such as...
DE
DT
DD
DH
DX
DA
DF
DL
DG

And others like...
EA
EG
EH

7900? 7700? 7800?? How do I know?

The colors of the cogs vary too...brown to grey to polished.
Any significance?

Thanks in advance.

Those appear to be manufacturing date codes. Year/month or something like that.

I'd look at other things to determine D-A or Ultegra, as you mentioned, color, etc.

this appears to be a little outdated, but fits in with your explanation.

According to the link you provided. ..
Most of my cogs were made in the late 70s

Did Shimano make 10 speed cassettes in the late 70s??

if you follow the repeating pattern, it places your cogs in the early/mid2000's
