I just finished building my new Dimond. There isn't a lot of info out there about the build process or other details. If anyone has questions let me know!

Hello deafcon and All,

Great looking bike ... I had a Softride for some time.

Is there any suspension effect to the beam like the Softride?

How does the bottom bracket stiffness compare to triangular frame bikes?

Cheers,

Neal

Sick bike.

What the cost of the bike minus the wheels/etc?

Frame sizes are S/M/L how was the fit?

I think retail is $5200 for the frame. Close to a felt ia, trek sc9, p5.

Holy smokes that is awesome. Wish I hadn't seen it, now trying to justify why I need one. Don't all mid-pack age groupers need a bike like that, I think so...as I am leaving my bike in backyard hoping I can tell my wife that my tri bike was stolen by punk kids.

I'm keeping my TTX set up for UCI events if I race one. I have one 20 minute ride and one 2.5 hour ride in. It is noticeably smoother on the road. The rough spots in the road are far less noticeable.
When riding it, I really haven't noticed the beam deflecting. The bottom bracket feels plenty stiff when out of the saddle. That area of the bike is pretty beefy. The large frame tubes seem to actually enhance the sound of the disc and 808. I will be performing some field resting of this bike versus my TTX when we have some calm weather. I will report back on my findings.

Are they banned AG worlds? Maybe when drafting comes in for AG's…..Not yet I don't think, could be wrong though.

Thanks for taking questions. I've been having a real issue with my Dimond ever since I got it.
How do you deal with all the honeys throwing their panties at you when you ride by?

Sick bike, dude. Very pimp.

The retail is pretty close to any other high end bike/frame. I was considering the Felt IA, Speed Concept 9 and the Dimond. I feel pretty strongly about buying from companies that actually make things in the US. Only the Dimond and Speed Concept 9 are made in the US.
I also prefer vertical dropouts, so another strike against the Felt. The wind tunnel data looked very good for all three of the bikes. The Dimond ultimately won as it looks awesome, has enhanced ride characteristics and met my other criteria.

That is an issue. The hotties really run out after you when riding. You have to be careful to not hit one.
USAT and WTC do not have the double diamond bike configuration requirements.

I'm on a medium. I had no issues with hitting my fit coordinates. I actually could run steeper and lower than I could on my TTX, but figured I would start with the same fit and go from there.
As you can use which ever cockpit you want to use, it give you more fit options. I love integration, but not at the expense of fit adjustments.

Yep, all bikes for worlds ITU must meet UCI bike stuff. I saw MANY folks at Edmonton who were NOT allowed to ride their beam bikes!!!

The handling is the most surprising part - it is great on twisty descents. I am coming from a nosecone Shiv, which is a decent-handling TT bike, but the Dimond is noticeably better.

Aero data so far: I split the same at Rancho Cordova as I did at Vineman (both have ~1900 ft of climbing, so comparable) at 7W less AP. I've also been setting Strava PRs on flat and downhill segments without trying - it just rolls fast. Will post Dimond porn later.

Re ITU racing: couldn't care less. :-) Still have the Shiv in any case; you can't put a Dimond on a trainer...seriously.

Either don't buy it or have a second bike that fits UCI rules. There are many different bikes that don't meet full UCI regulations. Just buy what fits your needs. Not many race ITU worlds, maybe under 5% of the tri population.

Why can't you use it on a trainer? What about a Kickr?
