Di2 Error Indicator Light
Just upgraded to Di2...trying to fully charge the battery before going on my ride tomorrow, but the battery error indicator light keeps flashing (charging failure) when I plug it into the junction box.

Any thoughts, suggestions, or ideas why this is happening? Could it be that my LBS didn't update the firmware? The current charge status is showing 50% (5 green blinks).

If you are using the internal battery and thus the usb charger, make sure that the usb power source is 1 amp or greater. Many are not. Less than 1 amp doesn't work and causes the light to flash.

Got it. Is the amp requirement on the usb power source the input or the output? I tried several that I have at my house...the one for my ipad says input .45A and output of 2.1A

Output. Your Ipad charger should work fine.

Are you using the BCR2 charger? If so, you could download the Shimano E-tube software and run diagnostics on the system.

The charger does everything EXCEPT run diagnostics. You need the pce interface for that.

Did you ever figure out a solution? I'm getting the same flashing error light. I tried using an Ipad usb-AC charger and that didn't help. I also tried swapping out the micro usb to usb section of the cord and still same blinking.

If you don't get it figured out, still go for your ride. You have enough battery life to last for many miles.
