Well that was a quick DQ. No need to a Twitch hunt

Chalk me up in the "not understanding" column.

I remember running that race back in in University days, big downhill first 10K (from what I remember), heard PB at 10K and freaked out a bit, tough hill at around 17 miles, classic race course.

More importantly, I see you managed to secure bragging rights over Don and Paul again. I trust you're well and still on for Tremblant?

The then-ninth, 10th, and 11th-place runners, Tanis Bolton, Sarah Elliott and Truphena Busienei, respectively, have all been bumped up in the results and are, as of March 28, officially listed in the top-10.

Just in case, I'd keep an eye on Miss Elliott going forward, due to the Double Letter Cheater Identification Protocol

So now another runner gets her pic plastered on a cheat story? That's rough.

read comments below, they do the same scam for last 3 years in a row!

Someone should investigate the last two years (2016 and 2015) for these two in the Around the Bay race. Their times are within milliseconds for both previous races.

What would the scam be, I wonder. What's the guy get out of having some relatively slow woman where his transponder?

I don't quite understand the part about the 2nd chip. What's the scam? I could understand if it were, say, a Boston qualifier. Then she could be Boston qualifying someone, or something like that.

But for the dude, what's the point of buying an entry, and handing the chip to someone else, to get what would be a fairly mundane time for a guy? I guess he could brag about "finishing" the race, but that seems fairly empty, even for a cheater.

Or am I missing something?

Only thing I can think is some sort of "corporate challenge" or something? Or like the woman said it's something personal, so who knows what the reason could be.

May not be his reason, but could be similar.
In the 90's I had a friend in the Marines stationed in Hiroshima. He couldn't get normal leave to return to the states; but, he could get leave to do the LA Marathon because of its' physical fitness benefit. So, he registered and had a friend run for him while he came out and partied with us in Santa Barbara for the weekend.

I looked up the race photos from 2016 and it does appear they cross the finish line together.

Let's try this one

Deck & Cherubini are pretty close friends, and traditionally run this race side by side

However, sometime between 2016 & 2017, Cherubini has found himself in a torrid love affair

Seeing the weekend of the Around-The-Bay as a perfect opportunity for a steamy marathon hookup session, he asked Deck to wear his chip for him, to establish an alibi

"Honestly honey, I was there! See the timing data!"
"But how come there are no photos of you on the course? Is this a Mike Rossi situation?"
"Ok, I have to be honest ... I didn't want to tell you; for you to find out this way. I've been nursing a stress fracture. I thought I could make it, but once we got there, I knew I could go on. So, I asked Sarah to run with my chip. I don't know why I did that"

The Hamilton Spectator published the following: http://www.thespec.com/...ying-to-be-cheater-/

In the article the runner admits to only completing 18 km and then hitching a ride back to the start / finish. She also admits to running the past two years with her boyfriend and wearing both his and her timing chips this year:

"The first year we sucked completely. He had really bad shin splints and we had to walk a bunch. Last year, we did much better," she said. "This year, we were hoping to improve on our time and we trained really hard together; but he got shin splints again and couldn't run the race, so I took his chip. It was his way of running with me."

Nothing makes me feel more *together* with my wife when she's away than strapping an RFID chip to my foot.

So, he's the boyfriend, huh?

Well, that kills my theory ... unless he's married and she just made another bad decision to take their relationship public
