Cyclist hit and goes under semi... and lives!
Pretty amazing/lucky local story. Semi turns in front of him as he's going down hill, cyclist hits brakes, skids out, slides under the semi, manages to wrap his arms around the brake lines before getting run over by the rear wheels and gets dragged along for 500m before the driver is alerted to what happened and stops. Broken shoulder, cracked ribs and road rash, but otherwise fine.

Talk about it not being your day to die!

Sounds about right. Had he been a movie action hero he would have swung into the cab, hit the brakes himself, and walked away with just a small scrape on his face. (Punching the driver is optional.)

From the local TV coverage of this event:

- Cyclist moving fast downhill,
- semi truck passes him, but before fulling passing veers right onto a sidestreet, cyclist caught under the tractor trailer
- dragged 1/2km before a car that witnessed the incident waves and honks at truck driver, convinces him to stop
- no charges (or even ticket?) for the truck driver
