I recently purchased a frame that is built for the old down-tube shifters. It has these ugly little tubes sticking out the side and I want to use bar-end shifters. When I have this bike built for me how will the cables be routed around these little tubes? Can I remove the little tubes? Most bikes I see today have a small grove to run the cables through that looks very clean, but not this one, it has those ugly little tubes.
