Coke flavored energy gels
Looks like there are several choices for coke flavored energy gels available in europe but none here in the states. :-(
Any advise on how i can get my hands on any? Was also thinking about making my own by mixing none flavored gel with coke syrup?
Is that something someone here has done before? Thanks!

This sounds like a good idea.

But race nutrition is like the alcohol you drank too much of as a teenager.....

Afterwards, you will forever hate the flavor.

True, don't think I could ever enjoy a tickle pink or strawberry hill flavored gel.

If your looking at the SIS ones, they may say cola flavour, but I'd disagree.

I gave a box (-1) away as I couldn't stomach them, I assure you your not missing out on much.

This.

I grew to enjoy the SIS Double Espresso ones, but the Cola and Berry flavoured caffeine ones are disgusting.

This. Gave the SIS ones a go as they had caffiene in them as well. But they were pretty bad. Tasted like old, flat generic cola soda.

You know cherries are actually quite delicious.

But what percentage of the American public can tolerate them?

Cherries..... "they taste like cough medicine"

They even stopped making cherry flavored medicine. "This medicine tastes like cherries (which tastes like medicine)."

Now it's strawberry flavored medicine.

If Strawberry growers knew what is best for them, they would try to put an end to Strawberry flavored medicine.

These ones are delicious and I use them mixed with water as drinks mix solution.

There is a universal solution being the power bar cola jellies too though?

Maybe you should try Powerbar's power gel cola flavor. Delicious, I've even been know to sprinkle them on my oatmeal in the morning.

Trisports.com has them in stock currently: http://www.trisports.com/...rbar-gel-blasts.html

I tried maltodextrin with water and cola syrup (sofa stream). Loved the taste and it wirked great, but could never stop it from overthickening over time.

Using unflavored gel as a base is a great idea. I found the right amount of syrup was enough for 4oz of soda per gel.

I was about to say, you could probably just add maltodextrin to coke and you'd have it made. Acidic as hell, though.

I am a big fan of "corn syrup" flavored sports nutrition.

But, after careful consideration- I think "Potato chip" flavor would be the best.

Whatever the flavor, by the end of an Ironman- it is going to taste like sh#t.
And taste that way forever more.

Better to spoil my future enjoyment of potato chips. That is a pleasure that I wouldn't mind spoiling.

This was the first thing I tried; the flavor gets too dilute for a gel.

Why would you snort race gels? That's messed up dude.

Now the Honey Stinger ones I agree with, although shame they aren't available in the UK anymore; it seem's Honey Stinger are a bit loose with the term organic for the UK's liking.

(Not to imply anything dodgy, different countries - different rules)

You can make your own from scratch with malto, glucose, fructose according to your preference, and pretty much any flavouring you choose. I tried Coke, worked fine. My faves were actually Cointreau or Bourbon. It takes a bit of trial and error to get the consistency right, and it can be a bit messy, but it's straightforward enough.

Bon Apetit covered making gummies in their most recent holiday edition. Looking forward to trying some of their recommendations. Should probably skip the line item about booze if they're for workouts though
