Clamping a Felt IA in a work stand

Help!

A friend of mine just bought a Felt IA 10 - the owner of his LBS just posted a picture of it on Facebook clamped by the top tube! Is this ok? I know pretty much every manufacturer will void your warranty by doing this. Is it also the case with the Felt IA series?

I don't know about warranty voiding, but indeed you want to be careful if you do that.

We use the Hirobel clamp on every stand.

Doesn't seem to bother Felt.
But I wouldn't do it

Actually, it does bother Felt. It’s in their carbon bike care guide.

More importantly, it highlights the dreadful industry wide state of technical documentation when it comes to bikes. Felt’s assembly instructions sends a very contradictory message as compared to their warranty information.
