Chattanooga weather

Looks like there will be a good chance of storms in the morning and interested to see how this plays out if this does happen. Can anyone share any insight on how information will be communicated or an experience in the pass ?

Yeah this is shaping up to be a total shit show. You just kind of have to get there in the morning in the pouring rain and find out via the loud speaker. Apparently they have a few different contingency plans, one of which is, of course, canceling the thing altogether.

My guess is the others include late start, no swim, or duathlon.

Sort of like IM Texas last year.

Isn't "no swim" and "duathlon" the same thing?.

Pink? Maybe. Maybe not. You decide.

By 'no swim' I meant that the swim would simply be excluded and there would be a bike then a run. By 'duathlon' I meant there would be a run then a bike then a run.

No, historically IM has gone a "TT" start with situations like this (no swim). Bike + T2/(1) + Run. Other halfs I have done have integrated a short run at the beginning (duathlon) + T1 + Bike + T2 + Run.

It is getting nasty now, but there is a good chance most of the storm will be passed by race start.

Did y'all still have to rack bikes today?

Looks like weather is cooperating - would take sub 70 and overcast over the inevitable heat stroke that will be Raleigh...

On athlete tracker, the age groupers have very fast swim times. About right for a 5K run. Did they shorten the age group swim or change it to a 5K run?? The pro's swim times look about right.

Antoine Jolicoeur Desroches hammering the bike with the all the other pro men appearing to be in a tight group. Heather Jackson pulling away from Sarah True, but True still in 2nd

But I agree, it looks like they shortened the age group swim.... to them out before possibly lightening storms roll in?
