Chafing in ultras
I'm doing some winter ultra events on foot.

I'm getting chafing in my nether regions. I know proper lube is key, but any base layer tips? Tried compression shorts, tried going straight to the craft long bottoms, still chafing.

Any favorite base layer shorts?

Thanks.

It's pretty personal :) I find a tight liner brief with a load of baby powder or similar does the trick. A lot of good advice here...

Avon Silicone Glove Hand Creme. I'm not kidding. Cheap. I heard about it from a Badwater athlete. I've used it for years in marathons and for cycling.

Tights?

I like thermal unpadded bib tights. I still use bodyglide(or other brands), but generally if I have chaffing it involves loose/normal shorts, not trishorts or bib tights.

Swim - Bike - Run the rest is just clothing changes.

I use bodyglide and then nike pro combat compression shorts (with running shorts over). That formula has been the end all to any discomfort for me regardless of distance.

This or the Lululemon shorts with the Luxtreme liner. Personally I find powders like baby powder, talc, Tinactin powder or even in a pinch Gen UCAN better but whatever you find works it what works :)
