So many comments come to mind-

1. Is that a male or a female? If male, name him "Lance" because there are not 2 balls there.
2. And you guys think pissing on your bike is disgusting. When you are not riding it there is a rat F*cking your derailer. May as well take a piss on it to mark your territory and keep away the horny rodents.
3. A Rat on a Cervelo? Forget calling him Lance, call him Crowie.
4. His tail is too high.
5. Just imagine if you had some sort of frame integrated water bottle that you didn't clean out. Your bike would have been carried off my ants.
6. If you had DI2, it might have chewed through the wires. That would suck to find out on race morning.

Had what I thought was a mouse problem in my garage. No luck with the mouse trap. Today I noticed this as I walked past my S3 in the work stand. Not sure why it was climbing on my bike, but this guy's got some serious bad luck.

LOOK is right, a bigger gap is better.

I thought Cervelo had addressed wheel/frame/rodent clearances?

Nope, this is a 2009. If you remember they revised the frame after only one year. Some thought it was due to wheel clearance issues. Guess we know the real reason now. Should've waited another year...

How did you get him out? just grab and yank?

No grabbing or yanking. Just took the bike outside, put it on its side and rotated the wheel backwards a little. He was just sort of wedged in there. I hope he goes back and tells all of his chipmunk buddies to stay away from my bike.

"I hope he goes back and tells all of his chipmunk buddies to stay away from my bike."

Nope... He just invited his buddies to his new deep tissue rollers that removed all kinks from his lower back and hip flexors.

Don't look now...there's a line to your bike 20 chipmunks deep right now.

Looks like you're in good shape for the new UCI tolerances starting 2013:

5.2. Equipment:
a.) Wheel/frame interface (as 1st January of the current year) will apply:
(i) UCI road race - rear wheel clearance must maintain free passage of small rodents when deflated but not deceased between tire and frame.
(ii) UCI time trial rules for draft-illegal triathlon and duathlon races, see above.
(iii) UCI MTB rules for winter triathlon, cross triathlon and cross duathlon races: allowance for same, up to small mammals (including beaver, marmot and muskrat for full suspension units with more than 100m travel)

Is this the new prototype SRAM deraileur system? Looks like they still may be working out a few kinks.

The good news is that bike would most definitely pass the UCI Credit Card Test!! Hopefully the UCI and commissaries around the world don't start using live squirrels to do this test. Credit cards are better!

Did you have sugary solution like Perpeteum on your frame? Just curious as to why a mouse would even be up there.

No chipmunks were harmed in this incident. Now, if he had chewed through my saddle or some bar tape it might have ended differently.

Really? I would have killed it without a second of thought or remorse. Rodents need to stay outside.

If your bike were a steel frame, the marmot would have been transformed into a pillow with your favorite team's logo on the pillowcase.

How long until the UCI bans rodents on frames in case someone wants to get an unfair advantage?

Well, that explains the answer to the question no one has asked so far -- "how were you THAT quick with a camera/phone?" I assumed he was sort of like a cat wedging itself through a very narrow opening -- one second they're squeezing through a space you're convinced they'll never get through, the next second they're outta there. I guess this guy gave you enough time to stop laughing and get a shot. Either way, thanks for the best laugh of the weekend.
