Toothpaste? Seemed to have fixed my slipping seatpost on the Slice (carbon on carbon). Smells nice, too!

Been using some Mother's aluminum polish.

A mechanic at a LBS told me he used to roll seat posts around on the shop floor. The grit and dust they picked up did the trick.

I never took my bike back there again, by the way.

What about roll on type adhesive compounds for adding grip to wood decks? A quick web search also turned up Lucid Grip used on skate boards.
