I'm in Kansas City on my way to the DK200. Checked in to the hotel but when I went to unlock my bike from the rack, it wouldn't budge. I have a hitch rack with an integrated cable lock. It's been getting more difficult to unlock but this is the first time I couldn't get it to release. I hopped back in the car and drove to Home Depot and bought some WD40. Soaked the lock but still nothing. Went back and bought a set of 24" bolt cutters for $22. Back to the car and prepared for the struggle of cutting the cable from the rack while in the parking lot of HD. It was laughable how easy it was to free my bike. And at 9:40 at night, nobody even asked what I was doing. Just wanted to give folks a heads up that these locks aren't as secure as I believed them to be. Maybe this is common knowledge but I felt a little sick to my stomach at all the times I've left my bike locked on the car. On the rack manufacturers website, one of the product features is:
- Integrated cable lock system AND hitch lock for maximum security (locking hitch pin included)
