Oh BS it is not just tri that has made you a curmudgeon. :) From one curmudgeon to another. There is bullshit everywhere. Calling it out is fairly easy to do in a not in your face way most of the time.

My favorite tactic is saying something like, "We should check into that because I thought something like that once too and was wrong." One of the frustrating ones is when you know someone is bullshitting you but can't call it out because to do so will reveal you have insider information. Or failing that makes you look like you are paying too much attention to what other people are doing.

Another favorite is to ask a "stupid question" " I am having trouble understanding what you are saying, could you provide the raw data so I can understand better?" And another, "I may be wrong but I thought at the last meeting we decided x and now we are doing y?" Just so I know I am not losing my mind could we pull up the minutes?"
