Over the last few days, I've had this burning stinging type of pain on the ball of foot close to the pinky toe on my right foot. I've had the same cycling shoes for the last 2 years with no problems. Is it time to get a new pair of shoes?

See your doctor. Most likely it's noting but I was glad I saw mine.

I would like to see one soon but all the podiatrists in my area are booking 6 weeks out so I'm on my own till then. Should I see an orthopedic surgeon if I can get in sooner?

Go see a sports doc. I would not make an appt with anyone that does not deal primarily with sports injuries.
