Closed. Clean break no shatter pieces but the bone was completely severed - looked like and slightly slanted number 11 about a third down my leg from the hip. Surgeon says it lined up perfectly horizontally, vertically and rotationally. Follow up surgeon indicated that the other surgeon did a great job.
