Boston: looking fast

Forecast is for windy conditions coming from the West (i.e., tailwinds). Temperature will be warm (60ish), but that should be manageable with the strong wind.

Bring it! Tailwinds are good for a little extra speed, but at least for me always cause me to overheat at little.

Runner's world said the 15-20 mph northwesterly wind 'could pose an issue to runners'.... does the writer not understand what that means?

I've learned to predict Boston Weather from my pre-race fitness. The suitability to running of the former is inversely proportional to the latter.

  • Every year I'm fit and ready: 75-87°/humid/head winds (2004, 2012, 2016)
  • Every year I'm not: 45-60/tail winds (20011, 2017)

Not that I am bitter...

Looking fast?

I'd wear as much m-dot gear as my body can handle along with some compression socks. At least that what I do when I want to look fast.

Also, make sure to shave your legs so all those runners know that you cycle, too.

And if you have an M-dot tattoo on your calf, cut a hole in the back of said compression socks to make sure everyone knows you did an IM.
