Bontrager Heart Rate Strap

Anyone use it? Any accuracy problems like those with the Garmin straps (I have problem with the hard, and I hear the soft is no better). Looking for a strap that will keep accuracy with my Garmin Forerunner 305.
With my Garmin, I've tried wetting contacts, spraying my shirt with anti static spray, wrapping transmitter with cotton fabric, praying, etc. Haven't tried gel yet, but moisture shouldn't be an issue. Very humid here in Louisiana. We're always moist. Transmitter works for about an hour, and then I lose signal completely.

Sounds stupid, but have you tried washing the strap? Not rinsing it, but a complete wash?
I had the usual problems as everyone else with the soft strap, but since I changed to the "standard" Garmin strap, I have not had any issues. An occasional trip through the washing machine is definitely worthwhile.

Well, with the hard strap, the transmitter is built into he strap. Don't think that would fare well through the wash.

Ok, looked around online for washing tips, and everything is mentioning hand washing with water and detergent. Haven't done that. I usually just rinse off. I'll give a wash a try.

I put mine through the washer with no issues.
