Simple question, best way to ship a complete bike across the US ?? Boxed and maybe 20 lbs total weight any idea on what that would cost ?? I hoping someone has done this recently and has a good idea.

I'll second bikeflights.com. In the fall, I shipped my bike from Michigan to Dallas and back for about $80-$90, plus insurance. It worked great and I'll use them again.

Thanks for the Bike Flight suggestion. Checked out their web site and it appears they use FedEx, DHL or UPS. So if you pack the bike yourself what is the advantage of using them ?? I'll guess they have negotiated a better rate than we can individually ??

When I sold my race bike, I shipped it to from Tampa to Chicago for ~$45 using FedEx. Packed it myself in a bike box I got from a local bike shop. Had to disassemble it more than I would have liked, but with lots of bubble wrap, it worked fine. Would be a pain for a race though...
