Bike Porn
Ok, after seeing some of the bikes on ST, this may not qualify as true porn. But it's my ride, I love it, and I wanted to share. (And, yes, I realize I'm really asking for it from this group!)

This photo was before I dialed in my position. I've since got rid of all the spacers and cut the steerer tube down so it doesn't stick out like a flag pole anymore. I also just recently switched over to an ISM Adamo saddle.

Can any Titanflex fans with sharp eyes spot what's unusual about the bike?

All it needs now is a bigger motor!

EDIT: Arrgh! The photo's not coming up! Sorry! Any tips? (Ok, I got it. Needed to use IE, not firefox.)

Seatpost is an aluminum Thompson; the beam is Ti.

The black part of the frame is powder coated aluminum.

Oh, and it only boings if you don't know how to pedal! ;-)

Nice bike. You are very correct, that they boing only if you pedal sh*tty. I have the beams on Zipps preloaded to 0 flex. The beams do not move up and down at all. My next TT bike will be a TitanFlex.

Yes, it's in your backyard and not at the metal recyclers!

Your heading is quite misleading... Bike porn? You must watch some strange porno's! This bike is just wrong wrong wrong and is up there with the ugliest of all time! The only thing missing is streamers and a sissy bar.

No Peaceful Tribe in that post. Are you in the middle of some heavy taper or something?

I've always liked the Titan Flex bikes and this one looks nice with those wheels. As someone with a history of lower back problems, the beam concept makes a lot of sense.

It's a custom frame -- stretched an inch just behind the headtube to allow me to ride steeper without an outrageously long stem. You can see the extra weld if you look closely.

Damn, I thought that area looked long, and then convinced myself it was all in my head.

So how did you decide to have that added. Did you get a fit somewhere first, or just from your other bikes?

I liked the Titanflex design, but even though you can position the seat just about anywhere, the front-center distance (BB to front hub) is fixed. On their 700c sizes, I thought this F-C distance is really better suited for a slack road position. Tom at Titanflex agreed, and he figured out a way to splice in the extra inch.

Lots of people apparently ride steep on the stock frames -- I just wanted to get some weight off the front end as I have a long torso and have had handling problems with clip-ons on my road bike with similar geometry. (Plus, a buddy of mine is a bike fitter and steered me through this so I wouldn't end up with an expensive ill-fitting frame.)
