agreed.....can't get enough! The tour was so much better when Lance treated his body as a human pin cushion....it's analogous to when Tiger was cheating on his wife and winning majors!

I feel sorry for him that he was made to dope and felt bad about it http://www.therichest.com/...ry/athletes/page/31/

From the article in the OP, there's no indication that Hincapie thought he was made to dope, or was particularly sorry about it. I don't see a lot of victimhood going on with George, except to relating to the Armstrong clan being singled out by USADA.

"Hincapie writes that neither Armstrong nor Johan Bruyneel, their longtime team director, forced riders to dope. "

you are right there, thanks

The quotes from the book do seem like it might be an attempt to give outsiders a more balanced view instead of simply further profiteering by assuming the victim status

I do love and still miss Calvin and Hobbes.

I don't miss Lance or professional riding and Ryder Hesjedal finished me off.

People who have already made up their mind will likely affirm their position one way or another. But those who pick it up with an open mind I think will find it interesting, especially with the likes of Cav, Cadel, TJ, Frankie, JV, Stapelton, Brian Holm and many others contributing. It's far more than a mea culpa and an interesting introspective on the sport.

Two more things I'll add: he accepts responsibility for his actions. It's also not a 'money grab,' his advance was donated to a NYC kid's track program, which will also receive royalty proceeds.

George had 40MM reasons to dope! Why not do it?

Yet they still seem to find ways to justify why they should keep their mega-millions. It's astounding. In my opinion, they words of apology would be believed if they put their money where their mouth is and donated most of their money to athlete development funds. They could save enough to get their life started in a new direction and they would be showing they are truly interested in making sport better.

To be fair Ryder Hesjedal only tried EPO once and said it didn't help him :)

Pink font optional....EPO helps the guy less than supply of blood bags in the 15th day of a 23 day grand tour!

Kind of ironic that we are talking about pink font the the Maglia Rosa winner in the same sentence. He wouldn't be the first Canadian doper to win something. Ben Johnson popped that bubble for us a long time ago. I still enjoyed Ryder's Giro win though.

Hincapie had a junior team that evolved into a pro team that's currently leading NRC.

I had him pen an autograph last year, but his regard for a fan was so low that the signature was illegible and that caused me to put it in the trash.

As involved as possible, although they have a DS. This year they added back a junior team, so it's not just the pro guys.

Ryder Hesjedal lost to a jeans clad Dave Walker at the 2003 Iceman. Coincidentally he also took EPO in 2003.

Denim > EPO.
