Argon 18 E-118, lateral movement in aero bars
Quote | Reply
I have a first gen E-118, the black and white version. I have a lot of lateral movement in the aero bars while using the plastic spacers for vertical stack. Is there a fix for this? Maybe a thread I can not find or maybe even a warranty recall? I have utilized carbon paste, that does not solve the problem.

Mine are not plastic, pretty sure they are alum. I found the spacers fit together nicely and are mechanically stable & robust. So the pad bases/bar holders were solidly connected to the base bar. Not sure why you would need carbon paste in that area. Carbon paste adds friction or bite for clamping type of joints eg. seat posts, base bar to stem, bar extensions, that sort of thing.

I was missing the shims for the extensions, so my extensions were always coming loose.
