Sure am. Almost all the frees and 100 and 200 fly. Would be great to meet. Are you going to the banquet? Any other ST folk swimming this weekend?

I'm swimming next weekend at NS Provincials. 100IM, 200IM, 50 Fly, 100 Fly, 100 Free. I think a bunch of folks have meets coming up or recently had some. Is there a way to set up a virtual meet on here, maybe to run for the rest of the season?

No banquet for me... I am going to be lucky to pull off the meet -- trying to organize the schedules of three children. I don't think we'll be seeded together in the 500 or 1,000... (we are 7 and 8 places apart). You must be hard core - going for the 200 fly!!

No TC registered! Slacker.

I am down for the 50br, and 50fr, 100fr, 200fr, 500fr, and 1000fr....

I like that idea. Not sure how to do it in the training log. We could have a virtual 1650/1500...

No 1000 sadly. But 1650.
I am a little scared of the 200 free. So hard to swim that event right.

Oh god, anything but a 1500. I'm a sprinter, middle distance guy at best. I'd be willing to extend out to a 400, or pick a small range of events for the meet.

If we can get this going and the consensus is to use a range of events, I'm thinking probably 100 free, 400/500 free, 1500/1650, and 200 IM would be a good all-around competition.

The trick is to sprint as hard as you can the first 25. It's only a 200, right?

Hahah, so you registered, but you are bailing? You do know you registered for the 1000, right? I've never raced yards... so I have no idea on pacing. I seeded myself slow so that my kids might say "well done Dad, you won". Last year I was in the faster heats and came mid pack (and second in age group) and the kids were like "well... you didn't come last". They don't understand the whole concept of seeds and mass events. Swimming the 400m Free scares me, but it is my best PR... I am worried about pacing the 500y.

I know. I didn't realize there was a meet until a couple days ago, and then registration was closed.

maybe she's born with it, maybe it's chlorine

If you can swim a 1650, the 1000 shouldn't be too bad

Virtual meet would be cool. Let me think about how we could do it...

8 mi run and 1000 yd swim today

Wanted to get in more swimming but woke up at 3 am with a headache and slept later than normal after taking ibuprofen to kill it.

No, it's the total amount of swimming at the meet.
200, 500, 1000, 1650 and then both fly events. I remember now that I did the 1000 because it was the last event of Sat and I figured I could scratch it if necessary. But I don't want to be too tired for Sunday...

I thought it was to do the full underwater distance on every length to save your arms?

SWEEET! Unfortunately I couldn't get to the 1650 for this weekend... so I will have to let you go undefeated.

Bunch of 50's and 25's today... and diving off the block practice... Only good for around 2800 scm... Our annual Oregon Meet is this weekend.

Used to post to these threads a lot, but I've been focusing on just riding my bike lately. Got a race with a swim leg coming up in 6 weeks, so I went to a masters practice for the first time in 9 months. Wow did that suck...

2x {100 fr, 100 k, 100 pull}
16x200 on 3:20
200 ez
175 + :10 rest + 25 fast
150 + :10 rest + 50 fast
...
200 fast
175 fast + :10 rest + 25 ez
...

I managed to get through ~12 of the 200s before cramping like crazy in one calf and calling it a day. There was nothing "fast" about anything I did apart from a couple downhill sections on my commute to practice on the bike. Didn't really feel tired, but my arms just wouldn't do what I wanted them to...
