Accidents like this have become to common of an occurrence. People seem immune to it now and have there "here we go again" mentality.

Wishing for a quick recovery for Starky!

That's crazy. If it was a hit and run, they really need to throw the book at the driver.

I'm with you on this.... another rider hit and killed about a mile from my apartment on Saturday. He was an "avid cyclist." I was almost hit while running last week. An SUV simply drove directly at me. It happened so fast I could not even see if the driver was texting but that would be my assumption. While everyone knocks trainer rides I just don't trust the general driving public enough to put my life in their hands.

Yep...I hear you. And I love riding outside, but more and more unless I'm riding with a group, I tend to stay inside otherwise.
100% of cycling indoors during the work week, and sometimes the weekend as well. I don't trust all these assholes driving while texting/chasing pokemons/doing whatever but keeping their eyes on the road.

I'm really tired of this BS. I hope these hit and run drivers die slow and extremely painful deaths. I know it's not right of me to wish this, but I can't help it. Human decency is on such a steep decline. Wishing you a fast and full recovery, Starky!

Some people here will tell you the risks of riding on the road are equivalent to playing ping pong.

I'd be focused less on what happens after the damage is already done. More focus on not hitting the biker in the first place.
