Amy Gluck hit by a semi	Quote \| Reply

A friend of mine was hit by a semi this weekend near my house. Her name is Amy Gluck. She's a top female age grouper. Multiple trips to Kona and age group wins. She is currently in critical condition in a medically endured coma at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. She a very strong person and could really use the support of the community. Please keep Amy in your thoughts during this tough time.

Northwest suburbs of Oakland county. Ortonville/Metamora area.

I did get an update that she is moving her extremities. The swelling is still really bad and they are waiting for it to go down to see the extent of the damage.

Sad.... must have been the wrong place at the wrong time. Very big blind spots with trucks and I am guessing Amy was in one. When I drive the firetruck or when i used to drive a 36' box truck you always have to be aware as a driver. Especially after passing someone running or biking.

Hope she comes through with limited issues. This is why I never ride/wait next to a car or truck. I always ride behind or in front so that I can watch for brake lights/blinkers and hopefully see the vehicle turning into my way.

My GF works for the the hospital she has been taken to, I haven't heard any more updates yet, it may be a day or a few more. I was just talking to Amy on Thursday too :(

She is one of the strongest women I have ever known. If anyone can get through this Amy can. We are all wishing her a fast recovery. All of your friends are behind you and we know not even a semi is big enought to keep you down.

Her condition is improving. The swelling is under control and she is going into surgery for the broken bones.
