Nice job stepping up by the Director of Marketing. For that you get a free beer after the race! --------------------------- ''Sweeney - you can both crush your AG *and* cruise in dead last!! 😂 '' Murphy's Law
NYGF blows. Expensive, overcrowded if you're doing it for anything other than a fun ride. I'd recommend the Bear Mountain Spring classic by CRCA as a good alternative if you want an actual race.
Got to admit that I had no fun at all on the third run this year.
Run, Bike, Run, Drink..............much better! --------------------------- ''Sweeney - you can both crush your AG *and* cruise in dead last!! 😂 '' Murphy's Law

People can't find the race. Yesterday, another athlete complained to me that they can't find any info on AZ. You really need some web updating. New people want to join the suffering.
On another note, what's the thought on a Hed3 and Renn disc for short course. I just got the H3 so I'm thinking about it but do you think this course is too much for the H3/disc combo? --------------------------- ''Sweeney - you can both crush your AG *and* cruise in dead last!! 😂 '' Murphy's Law
Agree, website is horrible. Finding results is a PITA. Simple information on a page with no flashing graphics would rock! Example of what not to do: Survival of the Mills website is painful with quickly swiping grapics. Just keep it simple, information is the priority. :-) To breathe, to feel, to know I'm alive.

I don't think wheel choice is going to be a big factor in this race. I would go with a light set for the following reasons:
There are some very hard hills where you may notice the extra weight
Much of the course is protected on one or both sides so you're not likely to get much of a crosswind which is when, I believe, the disc wheel's drag becomes markedly different versus. say a 30/40mm wheel.
The big mistake I made was gearing. I ran a 53/39 11-25 on my bike and was GRINDING away out of the saddle in my granny gear trying to get up. I was forced to go over 150% of my FTP various times just to keep moving. By the third lap I was contemplating giving up because my legs were so trashed.
