I'm one of the 50 locals that will be racing. We've had blue skies all week and temps in the low to mid 70's. Let's hope we have similar weather next year.

Absolutely, signed up at 3:01pm CST today. Love supporting and getting behind these sort of races!

How was the local turn out?

I'm surprised it still hasn't sold out. I thought there was only going to be around 500 general entry slots.

Yup, I drank the Kool Aid as well.
At this point I'm aware of a handful of Ultraman alums who have stepped up too.

I hope this race lasts. I can't make it in the next year or two but this is on my list to do sometime.

I'm in, from Fairbanks. It'll be an awesome race, the hard part will be not partying too much while camping before the race.

I'm in. Looking forward to something a little different - and this sure looks like it will be!

I'm in! Looking forward to a guy's trip, and a good excuse for my Sherpa to finally get in good enough shape to escort me up the mountain!

If someone knows of locals (or non-local support crew extras) who might be up for a brisk run up/down the mountain for the last portion of the run, please let me know. I realize it's gonna be hard, I'll be tired as hell, and it's an overall unknown, but having seen Mt Alyeska trails on youtube, this looks similar to Tahoe or some trails in Marin, which I'm hoping to *run* vs *hike*.
As of now, I have support of my family, gf, and potentially some friends, none of whom I expect to comfortably keep up with my slow-but-still-trained ass for the last 7.2 miles with 4k feet of ascent and a serious downhill.

I got a big, tall strong dude for my Sherpa, I'm going to build a harness to carry me up the mountain in and start calling him Hodor.

Just saw the announcement that the general registration is sold out. A few pro spots left and one spot to be auctioned off I believe.
Looking forward to getting out there with you all. The more I read and research this area, the more excited I get about it. I've never had my bib number a year before an event!
