I am organizing the local 20km Time Trial. I have a great excel spreadsheet that calculates age graded results. Using the standards in this calculator men's predicted times don't start to go up between ages 30-40, but each year over 40 there is a higher predicted time.
We have several juniors racing and I'm wondering how best to handicap the juniors relative to the masters athletes. The calculator I have only has age standards beginning at age 30. I would expect anyone 20-40 to be on an even playing field, but what do I do with the 15,16, 17 year olds who are racing. I was thinking of 5years worth of handicap for each year under 18. Using this logic 17yrs=45, 16=50, 15=55, 14=60.....does that sound reasonable?
Alternatively maybe there is a true source of age graded TT standards for juniors?
