Has anyone used the quick release on there bike and were afraid the unit will come out? The 910 seems like it could almost easily pop out if you hit a bump or something.

Nope, I use the quick release on three of my bikes without any problems at all. To me itīs looks pretty solid actually.

I've been using mine frequently on the bike since I first bought the 910 last year. Never even a hint of it popping out. Never had any problems with the 310 either

What happened? Was it during a race?

Yup during a race.
Started it and had it set to vibrate every 200m, I was not feeling the vibration no big deal got to the first turn buoy and went to check my time and all I see is the QR band for 910
No idea when it happened I figure right at the start, I never really felt anything odd or grabbing I got elbowed in the face but dont recall any arm grabbing??

So today I went on a ride with it and hit a bump and the unit shut off by itself. Anyone else experience that?

Yes, and many others have too. Have a look at the Garmin forums. I've returned mine and gone back to the Polar RCX5. No, it doesn't have the swim metrics, but it works. All the time.

I was having the same problem...not with one bump but aftr a while on abumpy road. I cut two two inch squares out of my wifes yoga pad and used that under the mount, and moved the unit off of the stem onto the aero extensions. So far it has been pretty successful.
This is really a problem that Garmin needs to address though, either through firmware or hardware.

I've never had a problem with it shutting off because I keep it on my wrist. That seems to have solved all the qr problems too :)

I hope they get this fixed soon. To spend $450 on a watch designed for biking, running and swimming ..it is totally unacceptable
