I made the post when the announcers were calling out names, and they called out her name. Corrected themselves about 5 minutes later.

In fact throughout the swim they kept thinking Chura was Holly.

Holly is 2:30 back, she was 1:36 back at the bottom of the climb, so she lost a minute there. No looking like a good day for Holly.

Jeanni Seymour 2nd fastest time up the hill. She and Holly together 2:30 back of Ryf (fastest climb by a good margin)

Yeah, wow.

"I just don't have the fight today"

Looks like she did though! Closed the 2.5min gap before 30 miles to get herself into second. Could be the pressure to perform and repeat the win. She has been saying all year that the extra attention has been difficult to deal with, while last year she was relatively unknown.

That is a shock. Even though she wasn't feeling the love, its hard to understand throwing in the towel when you've moved up to 2nd.

Pretty unprofessional to literally give up because you aren't having the day you wanted. No injury, no illness...just not feeling it so you quit the World Championships?

It's a 70.3 for fucks sake... She can make a training day out of it, finish top 5-10 and recover in 3-4 days. It's not like she has to run a marathon or something. Pretty lame...

after watching jeanni seymour's season so so far, i had her as my darkhorse for this race and i don't know how much of a darkhorse call that is. for those who haven't followed her, wait until the run. ryf better have a fat lead.

I can't imagine "I just wasn't feeling it today" goes over well with sponsors when you bail out of the fucking World Championships...from the front of the race no less.

He forgot the colon in the URL...

25 mid swim for the fastest.

Ryf closed the gap within 10mi (2.5min ish). Training Peaks/Best Bike Split have her time at 2:21 and over 250w. She has 5+min.

Tight pack of contenders after her including super runner Seymour, Frederiksen, Luxford...Philip has closed the gap now, she is a great runner. Wurtele now in top spots, closing 3min gap. Pallant also making big moves into top 10. True staying solid after third place swim but falling back. Morrison doesn't seem to be able to move through the field as usual, but if she stays steady, might make top 10 when some others faulted on the run.

Currently 45mi in.
