25mm Michelin Pro4 SERVICE COURSE V2 on 23mm Rims
Quote | Reply
I have just purchased a set of Michelin Pro4 SERVICE COURSE V2 Road Bike Tyres size 25mm.

I have put them on my new 23mm wide aero rims and they seem extremely wide, about 28mm!

I know the trend is that wide tyres are better but is this too wide...?

Has anyone had experience of running these tyres on 23mm rims?

Thanks

J

Yes, I did exactly that by accident this summer when I wasn't paying attention and grabbed 25mm Michelin Prs4 (Service Course) for my 23mm rims. I had to take the tires off the back wheel because the additional height of the tire meant it was now rubbing on the top of the brake calipers directly over the wheel. But I've kept a 25mm tire on the front wheel without a problem.
