Just wanted to thank Slowtwitch and GU for throwing such a great party. I have been a long time reader, not so much a poster over the years. Made the decision to come to Kona for a holiday, volunteer and spectate so was pleased to hear the gathering was back on. Wasn't expecting to be going home with a new set of race wheels! thanks to Vision they are awesome!

It was great that the Slowtwitch Party was back on. HUGE thank you to Karen Sing aka STConciege - for all the work she did behind the scenes to make this happen.

I'd also like to personally thank Sean English, my fellow talking head, Race/Event Announcer, for coming helping me with the Emeecing duties - it's always more fun with two. As some of you may know, Sean is bravely battling cancer, and just carries on! Also big thanks to DJ Wes for supplying the sound system and the great music that set the perfect mood.

The Slowtwitch Party had the BEST list of swag and give-aways all week in Kona! It's a don't-miss event. Thank you to all the vendors/partners who donated to the raffle.

Congratulations to Dan Empfield on 30 years in the business, and continually innovating and pushing the envelope. According to the news of the day (trisports.com), Dan continues to do that! :)

Book the date for next year (Wed. afternoon of race week in Kona) - the 40th Anniversary of the IRONMAN World Championships.

And for all those who put up their hand, when I asked if Lionel Sanders would win the race (there was more than a few of you) . . . did you think he would come THAT close? :)
