2017 De Soto Product-Liftfoil3 Speedskin
Just saw this on their site and hoping Emilio can comment.

This seems to be a true "swimskin" that is meant to be worn over a trisuit and removed in T1 Or is it like the previous liftfoil that was more of a trisuit that was meant to be fast in the water?

Potty-friendly Riviera looks nice too!

True except the colours are rather loud. When I'm shuffling along dejectedly on the run, the last thing I want to look like is some frigging xmas tree.

I know, I know, I need to run faster...

Agreed; their recent color schemes have been terrible--trying too hard to be different in my opinion

I respect your opinion on our colors. We will try not to try so hard. In the mean time, there is still a lot of stuff on our site that are plain black and white for you.

It is just that-an opinion. I can fully appreciate the boldness your strive for and still am a consistent buyer of your products. I don't necessarily want just black and white. I loved the De Soto colors until 2-3 years ago-slightly different than the norm but still fairly mainstream; they have just gotten a little out there at least for me

A black/white/red Riviera Flisuit and I'll put in an order next time I'm stateside (along with some of your tequila)

I'll have to agree on the color scheme thing. The performance of the products seem fantastic. I really wanted to buy the tri suits, especially the sleeved suits. I really did. But it was either too drab (black) or too Tetris-y. Instead I bought the Kiwami Spider LD1.

I love the colors. I specifically chose my Riveria tri suit for the bright colors so my family could spot me. Heck, I wish I could get a day glow wetsuit too. Why are they all dark colors? It seems like bright would be way better for safety and visibility.

Emilio - will you have any of these for sale in Kona this year (with the 20%off)?

I'll second that on the colors. I was originally going to pick up the grey 'tetris' top but ended up getting the colored 'tetris' top when I found out my parents would be able to make it to Lake Placid. I felt it would be easier for them to spot me. It worked well for fit, comfort, cooling and spectator visibility. Also got several compliments from random spectators during the run. Over all I was very pleased with it.

Hi Kate,

If we have them in Kona, they will be at HP Bike Works and they will probably not be for sale, but not on sale. Best bet is to order from us using the ST code in my signature.

Thanks for your kind words on our product and the colors. We too feel that our colors schemes are easy to spot by spectators, family and friends. We also know that De Soto is not for everyone so we design things that we think look good and different that from what other brands offer.

Thank you for your loyalty.

The new flisuit looks and feels a LOT better than it does on a computer screen.

Nice work, Emilio.

I have purchased numerous products from De Soto including T1 top and bottom, the new concept top and bottom and a couple speedskins and LOVE them.

But the new colors I just can't do.

I am amazed at myself as I have never paid attention to how stuff looks if it works.

So this is a first for me to not buy another De Soto product because of how badly I think it looks.

Maybe next year they will go back to what we are used to?

Now we know where the color schemes come from! Drink a bottle or two of this and let the color designers go at it! ;-) I'm more of a traditional color scheme type guy for the record, but I love your products. Keep up the good work over there.

Could one actually wear this as a trisuit for a short-course race? I don't need a pad for short rides (and actually prefer to either have a minimal one or not have one at all).

I have the color tile sleeved top and really like it. I was a bit hesitant about the colors too, but really like it now. I've gotten lots of compliments, and even won a prize a few weeks ago at a local event where the RD gave me a gift card for the "most unique kit". It also makes finding yourself in race photos very easy as it really stands out...if that's a thing for you.

That said...I'm uncertain on the new designs with the half-striped, half-donut design. It's really out there. Perhaps they are in the "must see to appreciate" category.

Hi Emilio,

Any chance of the Flisuit with the Mobius Fleece pad? I would love to have one that a minimal pad - even less than the Forza 4mm.
You know I am still rocking my one from the early 2000s but I probably should replace it!

Thanks, John

Great question, and Absolutely yes. I, like you, prefer less padding.
