Anyone know the dates? 3/26 (day before Easter) or 3/19.

I have no idea, but don't rule out April 2...it was held on that date in 2011.

What's nice is that for once, I won't be doing Oceanside 70.3 on tired legs one or two weeks after the L.A. Marathon. That's because L.A. is putting the marathon a month earlier, weekend of Feb. 14 to pair it with the U.S. Olympic Trials marathon the day before.

So I'll finally be able to do it as an A race rather than a long bricky-brick.

Registration usually opens in early/mid July. Make sure to have your computer ready - it sells out in about 5-10 minutes.

Jeez, race just wrapped up and already talking about 2016!! Not sure this race is going to sell out in 20 mins like last year given that Lake Tahoe and Santa Cruz are now on the calendar.

I have to say tho that this is one heck of an awesome race. Perfect time of year, not too hot not cold. Great to get away from snow, rain, cold, etc. Swim, bike, and run courses are all fun and challenging. Great test of early fitness. Fantastic atmosphere. Super competitive at ag to pro levels. Lots of fun things to do afterwards with the family, legoland, zoo, sea world, Disneyland, etc! Coordinated with spring break week.

I think it's going to sell out fast again. The reasons it sells out so fast is the time of year and it's first major race in North America of the season. Also the race has had a run of good weather, even when it did rain a few years back it wasn't a major storm.

I hope it's on one of the March dates. I don't know if anyone else runs into this, but I take my children to the Junior Carlsbad races every year, which has been on the same date as the Oceanside 70.3 the last two years. They were on consecutive weekends in 2013, so I was able to participate in both. The 2016 Junior Carlsbad/Carlsbad 5000 race weekend is April 2-3 in 2016.

Yep, this race will sell out fast regardless of Santa Cruz and Tahoe, which are both late season races up in NorCal, 400-500 miles away.
