2016 Felt AR FRD vs 2016 Madone 9.9

Both are expensive bikes no doubt.

But given similar MSRP, which is a better value and ride in your eyes?

Both come with lots of extras (nice wheels, di2, little aero/comfort tricks) and both have stack/reach that fits me fine

I feel like the AR FRD is a better 'deal' because you can easily flip the seatpost and (especially with Di2) add some aerobars and make a nice little TT machine

Maybe the Trek, on the margins, is more aero overall, but seems like a bit more challenging to wrench for the home mechanic?

I don't really race tri anymore, or even 'participate'. With a family at home and looking to clean up some space and consolidate to one bike, I just like to ride my bike hard when I can, do the best I can in group rides, and have some fun with my toys. If that makes me a poser, I don't really care =)

Well if you don't race then the ability to flip the post on the Felt shiuld have no impact on your decision. Honestly, if you want one fantastic bike and don't race then your best bet is to go with something custom and special like a Speedvagen or English.

The AR certainly seems a lot more Home mechanic friendly.

But if I have the time and cash to blow, I would get the Madone.
