I remember when they launched their $40 CO2 adapter last year on April 1st and I thought it was a joke because it came with customizable o-rings.

Not a company, but as a spin instructor I'm rather proud of the April Fool's I pulled off this morning.

I managed to convince my 5 am spin class that for liability reasons, helmets are now required for spin class. I tacked up official looking notices and brought in a tub of all our old helmets and labeled them 'Loaner Helmets'.

They bought it hook line and sinker and got a huge kick out of it.

I liked the Trek/Spartacus perfume ad, but the best I've seen so far is just an add emailed by bikewagon.com, touting the new 28.3 inch wheel size.

The Putin article on velonews.com was hilarious, especially the picture! Here's my addition...

Cervelo Announces Their Most Aero Tri Bike Ever

After years of wind tunnel testing, Cervelo has made the biggest breakthrough in their history when it comes to aerodynamics. Behold the new R1!!! The lower the rider can go the faster. Slap on some 650 front and rear discs, and you're ready to break the speed of sound. Models to start at a reasonable $2500 (helmet mirror not included). Of course, this means they have to rename their current "R" line of bikes to "C" for comfy. Rumor has it they are ditching their entire "P" line altogether due to it's aerodynamic inferiority. The tri community is overwhelmed and apparently Cervelo is sold out for 2 years. Good news doesn't come without bad news though. Aerobar manufacturers such as FSA, Profile Design, Zipp, and Hed anticipate have to revamp their entire product line and make up for sales losses by selling more 650 disc wheels. When asked about the UCI not allowing recumbents in TTs, Cervelo simply replied..."Who's the UCI?" Also, the racer organizers are scrambling to replace their current bike racks with traditional wheel stands to accommodate the new trend in tri bikes.

Sorry, didn't have time to write more...I'm a professional writer and could have really crafted a fake news story...:)
