What time is your 800 on Sunday ?

I don't swim until Monday but will come and watch it.

2nd last heat of the day, 800 is senior seeded and my guestimate LCM time puts me 19th so barring scratches lane zero in heat 52. Approx 11 hours of heats, 8am start so about 7pm.

I am in the 100 and 200m free
I can't say I am taking this too seriously. I used qualification as a motivator to try and swim more this winter.
I have a place in Montreal so there was no cost for me.

I actually haven't swam in a pool since the end of May. All OWS

Very nice, I've never swum in a temp pool like that. Any diff from a regular permanent pool???

Bump. I went down to the pool to check out the venue, wow what a zoo! Between fina and Osheaga music festival, the island is packed with a lot of people wearing not a lot of clothing. :)

Ya, welcome to Montreal :-)

Summer is crazy.

It starts off with Formula 1 weekend at the beginning of June and every weekend there is something. F1, Jazz fest, comedy fest, music fest, Gay pride, tennis.....every weekend is packed. It's a fun city (in the summer).

I was walking along St-Catherine today. Lots of FINA swimmers.

Yesterday morning I went riding on the F1 track and hundreds of swimmers were crossing to see the OWS venue.

I would bet Brazil has the biggest contingency here.

I am going to try to go and see Bo swim this evening.

Race report 800 Free .

I was 5th in M339 9.17.72 and the CDN record going in was 9.23 from 2004. Unfortunately for me the 4th place finisher was a fellow Canadian.

So looking at the race I am not 100% satisfied with the swim. I could have tried to kick more in the last 250 to 300m which might have got me to the podium but was afraid of blowing up. I wont make that mistake again. Now we are seeing who is fit and is a threat in the other distance races.

Your 9:17 is still pretty quick, espec for your only swimming 10K/wk!!! Nice race!!!

You probably know this, but of your heat, I'd say you have the least visible kick.

There was a guy from Quebec, two heats before you. He went under 9:20 but they didn't show his time.
Is he the Canadian that beat you ?

His coach was sitting next to me, whistling quite hard.

Nice to meet your father. I saw an official talking to him that I recognized immediately. He DQ'd me in the qualification event for twitching my arm. DQ'ing old guys for twitching arms is kind of stupid IMO, but rules are rules.

I got a good video, I will post it later if you want.

I am heading down in the morning. not as fit as would have liked, but should be fun all the same.

I am entered in the 400 and 3k as well but have to get back to pick my kids up from camp.

Any one know of a good cheap place to park my car for the week? Won't need it from Tuesday to Friday but don't feel like paying $35 per day at hotel.
