11 speed on a 10 speed hub
Anyone have experience with this? My new bike is an 11 speed cassette, and the hub on my disc is for a 10. What are my options?
Gracias,
Juan

Cheaper, but you need a little mechanical know-how: http://darkspeedworks.com/blog-11speed.htm

The new Shimano Ultegra R8000 has an 11sp cassette that is designed to be compatible with old 10sp hubs. I believe it is the 11-34. I guess the large 34 cog at the top allows them to cantilever it over the spokes and fit them all in there on the old 10sp cassette hub body.

I got a 10 speed Hub. I got a buddy of mine to machine 1.8 mm off two 11 speed cassettes and they work great.

What disc do you have? A freehub swap to Campagnolo is a good no machining option, if avaliable for your wheel.

It's a 10 year old Zipp disc (808 set.) but it has a ton of memories and it still works....Found one to borrow, but need a long-term fix.
