Want to pull the plu on a rear wheel from wheelbuilder.Can someone confirm that I just need a spacer to use an 11 speed hub with my current 10 speed setup?

Yes, you can.
The other way around, you need to lose a cog and use 10 out of your 11 speeds and use 10 spacers and 10 cogs and re adjust your limit screws so you don't have an 11th click that throws your chain into the spokes.
