I would like a massage for Valentine's day, please. Second wish is flowers - not roses (well, maybe a couple roses - but mostly carnations.

maybe she's born with it, maybe it's chlorine

A Trek Speed Concept 9.8 WSD would be fine with me!

Yeah, I would be okay with either one of these!

I heard the pajama gram and hoodie footie blurb on NPR. Now I'll have to Google it!

The 14th is my beau's birthday, so that trumps Valentines Day. It doesn't completely get him off the hook though.

Those look hideous! (the hoodie footie things, not the wheels)

Like the SC idea!

I don't know what the pajama gram is, but as long as you're not asking for PAJAMA JEANS it's OK with me. ;)

I second the massage idea... it always surprises people that I've never had one but I guess it's just not been in the budget? (Although apparently new training gear and a new BIKE!! are? Clearly I am not in business...)

I would just like hubby to stop calling it a manipulation by the greeting card company then maybe get me some flowers.

And its not about what you want to give her, its about what she wants to get. Swanky dinner out where she can get dressed up is always nice.

:D I love those promos on the radio--the sports talk guys sound so distressed when they have to read them over and over and over.

That's what I got, a spa day gift certificate. Which was surprising because I didn't think we were big Valentine's Day people. We exchange cards and have a nice dinner, but gifts aren't expected. He is good at surprising me.

I got 2 Valentines from another grad student on campus. He is married so they are friend valentines (and they're geeky ones) but it still counts and they totally made me smile!

I put a bowl of chocolate out for the mathematicians I work with - it also had 3 equations (a cycloid and two y= linear ones) that made a heart. I gave the little store-bought school type Valentines that come with cards + candy for my officemates. And tonight I will do Valentines with my family.

That is not a Valentines gift. More Birthday or Christmas.

You want one of these for valentines :-)

I spent Valentines day waiting for a flight out of Presque Isle, ME to take off. It finally did, some 5hrs late and I missed two different connection options in Boston to make it home. I finally made it on a flight to Montreal with a hope of making a connector to Vancouver, but missed that one by an hour after further delays. The only pleasant part of the day was at the very end when I met up with a lady who had also been trying to get to Vancouver. Stranded in Montreal for the night, we made the best of things and had a nice time at dinner in the hotel bar/restaurant. We finally made it to Vancouver shortly before noon the following day (late again, this time I can only guess due to high winds as we took off pretty close to on time).

Sadly for the womens who might be getting excited about any prospects with my new friend, she's married. (And for the record, she agreed with my thoughts on Valentines day :p)

Trip to Maine and you met two new women, not too shabby for you!

Northern Maine was good to me. Beautiful country and incredible people who really made me feel at home. (Though I must admit it was very strange to have EVERYONE in town know who I was, and the pharmacist casually ask if my salt tablets came in when she saw me on the biathlon range...) I can't say I enjoyed the -20 (before wind chill!) morning temps, but it did make snow maintenance much easier!

It's good to be home - back in the temperate rainforest where I belong. :D
