So I know the basics of adjusting my rear derailleur(even if I can't spell it) but it's the front that went funky on me. I did St Anthony's this weekend with it behaving just fine and then boxed it post-race. Did a small chain ring recovery ride on the trainer Monday no problem(because I didn't try to shift probably) and then went to shift to the big chain ring during today's session and no go. It won't shift into the large front chain ring. I'm assuming something got knocked out of whack when I packed it or during transit but it's nothing obvious so...how do I fix it? It's a SRAM Force set up with the Red aerobar shifters if that matters. Yes I'm running compact cranks but it's worked fine since I got it so I don't think that's it. My "LBS" that I deal with for this bike is a 6 hour drive away so I prefer to try and fix it myself otherwise I'll either have to take it to the mtn bike specialist truly LBS or take my chances on the mechanics at another LBS. TIA for the help.

Get yourself a copy of "Zinn and the Art of Road Bike Maintenance" worth every penny.

If it worked before and soesn't now, check your cables and housing. Could have a kink in the cable or the housing has streched and frayed. Also check to make sure the der. did not get knocked out of place.

Somehow the high limit screw got knocked out of whack. Not sure how in the bike box, the cables would of made more sense since I have to take the base bar/aero bar piece off because the cables are so short before they go internal with this bike to fit it in the box. I looked at the Park Tool stuff and said to myself- it can't be the limit screws, how would that get moved but that was what it was. Now I know for next time. I did take the Park Tool class years ago but if you don't use the knowledge frequently it flits away.
Thanks for the responses and for not making fun of the question.
