What is your opinion on this look, specifically the sweater tied around the neck look?

I've never really liked this look. It seems a bit geeky to me. I've been told it's a metrosexual look, which is considered a good look for men. Okay!

Dates back to the 1960's and 70's. We used to do that in high school. What goes around comes around.

Preppy Murderer. That "style" looks like a guy wanting to fit in with wealthy East coast fat men who only get laid based on their salary. It is in no way attractive and should never have been.

Not only is it unattractive but it smacks of yucky douchiness. Of course, I'm about to chime in on the LR thread about baseball hats, that not only do I like them on guys (has to be situationally appropriate) but on the right guy and right situation a backwards hat, say playIng sand lot football, can be hot!

I would love to hear The Womens opinions on the metrosexual look. I mean, I like a guy who can dress well, but I think too pretty or too polished is a turn off. And spending more time than me getting ready would be a deal breaker, and I go from end of workout to out the door in no more than 20 minutes, and that would be a leisurely pace.

Give me a good ol' country boy who looks like he's not afraid of a little hard work...grrr.

I'm glad others agree. I thought it was just me. I also think it looks silly when men wear their golf shirt collars up.

popped collar or a sweater tied around the shoulders is a pretty good indication you're dealing with a douchebag.

then again, i don't wear makeup or perfume and think my man is at his hottest in combat pants and a t-shirt with the sleeves ripped off, so what the hell do i know? :)

cheers!

It's not Metrosexual, it's Yuppy Martha's Vineyard (or preppy murderer, as previously pointed out).

Agreed it's rather douche.

It's and 80's preppy look. I didn't like it then and I don't like it now. Says rich spoiled obnoxious kid. Zero interest. Baseball caps are fine but please no trucker caps or those stupid ones with the flat bills.

Ugh...

Nobody can get away with this:

Its strange being a displaced Euro centric urbanite living in a rural area. Sort of like a fish out of water at times. I'm probably the only guy in our area that does triathlons, drinks red wine, drives foreign cars instead of pick up trucks and doesn't wear one of these.:-)

Totally agree. I also see that and think they're too lazy to just carry their sweater...

"Very, very sexy!"

Nah - now here's sexy - that's me back in the late 1980's. Well sort of :-) My nickname was "MacGyver" because everybody said I looked like him. At least I had that same hair style. Still got lots of hair, but its starting to gray. Sure sucks getting older. But I guess that beats the alternative. LOL!!

Here's the real question: can you MacGyver things? You know, in the verb sense. That's what made him so hot...good with his hands, and, no, I don't mean like that "good with your hands"

And the ability to "MacGyver" with a bit of grey is even sexier.

Now I am revealing all my weaknesses....

Oh....My..... Perfect. I'm going to need a moment. (Assuming that's a pen in his hand and not a cigarette).
