I know it is a bit early as the 2016 event hasn't even taken place yet, but I thought I'd put it out there early. The 2017 Gran Fondo final (formerly Masters's World Champs) will be held in Albi France in 2017. I am a native of the city and the company I work for will be offering either a full 10 day cycling trip to the event including accommodation, airport pickups, pre riding of the course etc. Needless to say I personally know the area and courses well as they are literally my back yard.
