Who Will Be Mitt's Running Mate?

Not seeing a lot of excitement with the top 3 names mentioned. Looks like Mitt is playing it safe as he often does. I would like to see Susan Martinez - the NM Governor on that ticket, but the smart money seems to be on Portman, the only name that has been consistent and unwavering in this whole VP campaign. Rubio? No way, opens up the Republican ticket to the same criticism that many Republicans levelled against Obama. Too many unknowns, too many constructed narratives with holes in them, and not enough experience. Though he would still be better then Obama. But then again, I would seriously vote for Homer Simpson (the character) over Obama.

Excitement? Explain the excitement when Barry chose Biden? Or when Clinton chose Gore? Or when Reagan chose Bush?
I remember the Cheney choice being widely accepted as a good one. All the others... meh.

All of those with the exception of Biden were examples of unifying strong contingents of the respective parties at the time.

So that's excitement or not?
I guess I would be excited if Romney chose Jack Welch, former CEO of GE on a platform of immediately cuting the bottom performing 20% of federal government workers.

Ryan would be great. But that's a whole lot of hairdo on one ticket.
Nikki Haley would be a nice sleeper pick.
I don't get the issue w/Rubio?

Yes in a boring way. They in many cases were strong contingents with loyal follwers in the primary. It drew excitement among the loyal. So while it wasn't targeted at moderates, it did gain some. Most non-political junky republicans never heard of many of these guys being named on the list. And they look just like romney reinforcing a stereotype they say they are trying to break.

I don't think he will go female. McCain screwed that one up.
I think it will be a total darkhorse. IMO, he should pick someone like Bob McDonnell of Virginia. It might be a boring but safe pick. Plus, he could send a 'southerner' into Virginia, North Carolina, panhandle Florida and southern Ohio. He would connect a bit more than Mittens.

Well, she's definitely looking for a paycheck, not sure she's looking for a job.

Someone from VA or OH would be the logical choices (McDonnell/Portman)...as he needs both of those states to win. Rubio is a possible rising star, but still young, and will probably deliver FL anyway.
It is interesting, and Mitt has said he was open to people who may come from outside the typical political environment (i.e. Whitman).

Whitman might be a good choice given her experience in running for a major office and having been vetted in the public eye. I would say much more vetted than Palin was. However, she and others like her don't do a very good job of balancing out the Romney ticket. Very rich and no governing experience. As one of the biggest darts thrown at him is not connecting to the common man, they might go for some one with a smaller bank account.

Will this be a game changer for Specialized, in both sales and product design, or will it not move the sales and design needle versus those in Specialized's competitive set?
