JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Graphic Designer of Washington Sports & Event Management Inc is responsible for production of marketing and web maintenance while ensuring brand consistency and quality for the range of events owned and managed by WSEM Inc. Candidate understands the unique nature of the event industry and recognizes that team play, team support and a positive attitude and approach to handling challenges are critical to the success of the event business.
While the specific role and tasks undertaken for each event will vary, the Graphic Designer is primarily tasked with and becoming responsible for the marketing elements and brand consistency of each event. The Graphic Designer will oversee the original creation of visual elements for Internet, print and other forms of marketing. The role of Graphic Designer also includes working closely with Sponsors, Athletes, others and recognizes that each of their experiences and contacts with WSEM must be partner oriented, welcoming, friendly and trustful.
The Graphic Designer recognizes that WSEM works closely with a number of outsourced partners to produce its events. The relationships created with these partners specifically, and with all of its partners in general are critical to the success of the company. The Graphic Designer specifically recognizes that a positive team oriented approach is vitally important and that professionalism, courtesy and respect are the cornerstones of our success.
The Graphic Designer will be specifically responsible for a number of tasks for each of the events we produce as follows:
Graphic Designer Responsibilities
• Team member for the marketing and sponsor activation
• Suggest and develop solutions to further company marketing, registration and sponsorship goals
• Creative direction for annual event marketing campaigns
• Original creation of marketing elements to be used for Internet, print and other marketing collateral
• Assist in project management for websites, print, digital for all event properties
TriTown USA
Washington, DC, AKA, TriTown USA, is now home to two major triathlons and a youth triathlon summer camp. The 3rd Annual Washington DC Triathlon joins The Nation’s Triathlon to Benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, now in its 7th year, and the 6th Annual ACHIEVE Youth Triathlon Summer Camps to enhance Washington, DC’s status as not just the nation’s capital but the hub of America’s growth of triathlon. Washington DC Triathlon (WDCT) & The Nation’s Triathlon (NT)
WDCT event features International and Sprint distance courses with breathtaking vistas, monumental landmarks and a finish line on America’s Main Street, Pennsylvania Avenue, in the shadow of the U.S. Capitol Building. Part of the newly created series by Ironman, 5150 is the largest international distance triathlon series in the world, offering a competitive platform for professional and age group athletes. NT To Benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is largest International distance triathlon in North America. Our partnership with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training program is the only race in the country to benefit research toward a cure for blood cancers. Ironman 70.3 National Harbor
The 1st Annual Ironman 70.3 National Harbor will take place on Sunday, August 5, 2012 with an anticipated 3,000 registered participants making this race one of the largest 70.3’s events in the world. The race is located at the beautiful National Harbor in the Metropolitan Washington DC Area, home to the largest concentration of USAT regional triathletes in the country. With three major international airports close by, plenty of hotel space and a great course design, this 70.3 is destined to become one of the greatest on the Ironman calendar.

ACHIEVE
ACHIEVE Kids Tri, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that helps under-privileged and at-risk youth learn how to lead healthy and active lifestyles. ACHIEVE is a USA Triathlon (USAT)-supported youth development program that uses certified triathlon trained coaches to teach the fundamentals of swim, bike and run. In partnership with citywide Departments of Parks & Recreation, YMCA’s and other organizations this program is offered free of charge to help inner-city youth ages 9-14 experience fitness in a safe and enjoyable environment. Each athlete who completes the training competes in a USAT Sanctioned triathlon and receives a Presidential Active Lifestyle Award. URL – AchieveKidsTri.org
