renting a bike in Germany?
More on my trip to Germany in a few weeks - is there anywhere I can rent a decent bike (i.e. not one of those orange things from DB) to get in some good riding? I'm going to have a couple of weekends free and I'd like to get in some long slow mileage on a road bike.

Thanks for any help.

Where exactly are you going? Germany is far smaller than Texas but if you are going to Berlin a decent place to rent a bicycle in Munich won't help you much...

Good point! :) I'll be in Bamberg (near Nuernberg) and Stuttgart.

Bavarian_Frank is living close to Bamberg (if I remember correctly) - maybe he can help you there.

Below a contact for the Stuttgart area. Bad Cannstatt is a suburb of S. Go to the web site and click on "Impressum" on the navigation bar on the left of the page. There is an email contact listed. Maybe they have an idea - I could only find road bikes for rent for some cities in the North.

Your last resort would be to rent an MTB, which should be available at almost every decent-sized bike store...

HTH a little...
