So all these people saying Trump will be fine because there are responsible adults in positions of power, yeah about that.

Mattis. That's the serious answer. He's the last line of defense to pure insanity. That's barely hyperbole.
I get the Mulvaney assignment. I can see him as a reliable yes-man. (But then we have fill OMB!)
I don't get Bolton at all. I don't see him as being compatible with Trump. He's nuts. But he has consistent and well-developed ideological principles. Trump seems to get along vastly better with people with more "fluidity" in their principles.
I'm no longer questioning why some seemingly rationale, good people decide to work in the Trump administration. I support them wholeheartedly. Mattis may go down as one of the great American heroes if he survives the next ~3 years.
