Congratulate me

I fitted a Challenge open tubular tyre without using levers yesterday. Fresh out the box. With latex tubes.

That's it really

Pretty unfit these days so not many chances to show off, but I did this.

So, you broke both thumbs installing a very tight tire and then broke both arms patting yourself on the back? Who drove you to hospital?

Kindly forgive me, I just couldn't resist.

What rim?

My training wheels, Vision Team 30. And mighty fine they look on there, too. Not as many spokes as I'd like but it's what I've got (taking these to out to Paris Roubaix for the cobbles).

In the interest of being helpful, if anyone else is wondering how the hell to mount a pair of Challenge Paris-Roubaix 27mm then check out this video. Fitting the 2nd bead top to bottom whilst pressing down onto your feet like this creates just enough slack to get them over the rim. The hand gel seems to help also. Wouldn't have thought it possible until I tried it this way.
