I'll be in Venice, Florida, for a few days and I am looking for long bike route suggestions. I haven't found anything with Mapmyride and Strava.

Just south of venice is Englewood. This is a route I've done there.

A little north, but Longboat Key is the safest, best bike lane road around. Especially weekend mornings.

Also any safe non tow place to park car then ride?

I'll be in Venice for a few days soon, too. Are there any decent unpaved running trails? Sorry to hijack the thread...

tyrod, fewer commuters going to work on the weekend mornings....I think. For the most part, it's a 2 lane, 10 mile stretch and all the traffic on the Key has to use it to get on and off at either end. Bike lanes are wide and smooth, you'll see lots of bikers out there in the AM.
Mouflon, I park behind the publix about 2-3 miles north of the south bridge (Lido Key). never had an issue.

Check out the Legacy Trail. It runs from around Venice north to Sarasota. I'm not sure where the Venice access is, but it's a rails to trails project, long, straight, flat.
